The following assumptions apply:
- per-person ferry fares calculated based on vehicle + four passengers
- same route there and back (minus boat ride to trailhead on return trip)
- $10 per person for gas, should the drivers accept it (insert "how expensive gas is" cliche here)
| Travel Costs | |
| From Seattle | per person |
| Fauntleroy Ferry | $7 |
| Coho Ferry | $21 |
| Gas | $10 |
| Boat to trailhead | $99 |
| To Seattle | |
| Coho Ferry | $21 |
| Fauntleroy Fery | $2.75 |
| Gas | $10 |
| Total | $171 |

Wow - that is an expensive boat ride. Given that the trip is a month away, do you want people to send checks?
Yeah - real expensive. Thank you for offering, but don't worry about checks. It's actually just a hold at this point, and we may be able to just pay separately up there. If not, no worries. I'm using fake money at an intro 0% rate.
There is also a bus option to get to the trailhead, which would cost about $65 a person.
And by "no worries," I meant "I would be happy to accept everyone's payment after the trip"!
