Hi Matt, et.al.,

I'm with you on the blog. George and I just did a 6.6 mile trail this morning up to 8000 foot pass in the Organ Mts. directly east of Las Cruces. 106 degrees here today. Glad we left early and with adequate water. We're in training.

106 degrees, yow! Vargo and I have done a couple hikes in the 90s here in Georgia, but you get the award.

Lucky me. It's only in the 60's here in the NW.

I've been taking a few walks myself so I can try to keep up with you guys. Also lost 12.5 lbs.

It's about 7.2 miles around the lake on the roads and it has been taking about 2 hrs and 20 minutes.

Did 10.25 miles in 6 hours with a 1200 foot elevation gain and lunch at the halfway point on Green Mt.(Kitsap Peninsula) last week.

Got to get serious about getting in shape now because last Sunday Duke vetoed using my 9 oz tarp on the trip and we will now each carry 2.7 lbs of tent on the WCT trip.

Thanks, Matt. Checking in. I had dropped 15 pounds in Hawaiii, and put a bunch back starting with the party in New Jersey. Been doing a bunch of weight training and other gym stuff, and I'm up to 60 miles biking. Shifting over to outside stairs and hiking. for you guys training in the heat- we still have winter here in the Northwest, with snow today up 3500 feet at Snoqualmie Pass.

I am following up with other posts regarding travel, schedule, food, budgets for review and dialogue.

Regarding Mr. Ultralight, actually we agreed to bring the tent AND the tarp = 3.6 pounds.
