Daily food schedule question

Duke(ster) indicated early-on that we will each plan and carry our own breakfast, lunch, & snacks with a group menu to be developed for the evening meals.

A couple of questions for the group to expedite personal planning:

1. Will plan time to cook at each meal or plan to eat on the run? Breakfast (coffee)? Lunch? Dinner? What does the group prefer to do?

2. I think a group meal for eight each evening will be hard to accomplish and maybe cooking in pairs will work better. What does the group think?

3. What is the plan for food items? The finest of steaks and chops? Freezer bag cooking meals? Dehydrated (Mountain House, etc.) meals? MREs? Bear steaks provided by Josh the hunter and his bowie knife? Anyone have some good ideas?

Thanks

Rob

I agree, planning a nightly meal for 8 people could be somewhat onerous. Planning in groups will probably be easier.

I haven't given it much thought, but my meals will likely be of the freezer bag variety (look - just add water) and thus require minimal resources for preparation. Admittedly, if it's cold, I wouldn't mind coffee in the morning, thought that can be as simple as adding unfiltered grounds to hot water and waiting 2 minutes.

1. I'd like to cook (read: boil water) for breakfast and dinner. Lunch uncooked. Maybe we just plan to spend dinner time together each day and hang loose on the other meals.

2. I would also prefer not to coordinate a group dinner, and instead prepare in pairs. We could still eat together.

3. I am thinking simple meals -- oatmeal for breakfast, something that doesn't need to be heated for lunch, and dehydrated meals (package or pasta) for dinner.
